Seasonal flooding in East African countries has affected 6 million people and displaced 1.5 million people from their homes. The figure showing flood victims in the region is on rise since 2016. According to related UN agencies, the number of people impacted from seasonal flooding has increased six-fold in the last 5 years. Sudan, South Sudan and Ethiopia have experience record flooding since July. Some scientists believe that warming of the Indian Ocean is causing increase in rainfall.
