Our Caucasus desk researcher Mokhmad Akhiyadov made a presentation on "Russia's Caucasus Policy" at the Caucasian Foundation on Saturday, January 25th. After explaining the geopolitics of the Caucasus, some important historical events affecting the structure of the region in the past, and the North Caucasus policy that Moscow has followed since the 16th century when Tsarist Russia initiated the occupation of the Caucasus, the program was completed with answering the questions of the audience.
