Two UN organization Unicef and Wfp have warned risk of increase in child acute malnutrition in West and Central Africa in 2020. According to a statement issued by Unicef, 15.4 million cases of acute malnutrition in children are expected in this year. The organizations believe that combination of food insecurity and Corona pandemic has been increasing acute malnutrition in 19 countries of the region. The other obstacles including conflict and armed violence causing displacement have been causing child malnutrition to jumo into enprecedented levels.
