Lazarus Chakwera, the newly elected president of Malawi, has been sworn in as president. Chakwera's election victory demarcated a landmark result in Malawi's modern politics. In Tuesday poll Chakwera defeated Peter Mutharika by taking 58.5 % of votes. In his interview with BBC, the new president has been referred to himself as one of the biblical characters of the same name.
