Local elections were held for the first time in 12 years in Mostar on Sunday, December 20. Just over 100,000 people were eligible to vote in the elections. The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) won the Croatian regions of the city and took the lead in Mostar, with more than 37 percent of the votes, according to preliminary results.
On the other hand, the main Bosniak coalition of the country, led by the Democratic Action Party (SDA), has announced that it has gained 29 percent of the votes.
