On July 8, a protest was held in front of the Supreme Council of Adjara (Autonomous Republic of Adjara is a region of Georgia). Protestors demanded the government to open the state border with Turkey or pay compensation for the loss of earnings from work in the neighbouring country.
The protesters claimed that because of the border closure since March, they had no earnings, and self-employed persons have not received compensation of 300 laris. In any case, such compensation is not enough, the protestors claim.
