Social media platform Facebook has closed some accounts belonging to Uganda government officials ahead of the presidential election. Facebook claimed the accounts are seeking manipulation over election debate by using fake and duplicate accounts. Local authorities accused the social media giant of seeking to influence the election. The East African country is holding presidential and parliamentary elections on Thursday, 14th of January. In the historic election, President Yoweri Museveni is facing a challenge from Bobi Wine, a young popstar-turned politician.
