On Aug. 4, the explosion of a warehouse in the Lebanese capital filled with nearly 3,000 tons of ammonium nitrate took at least 200 lives, also leaving around 6,000 injured and 300,000 people homeless in the massive blast. The explosion has shocked Lebanon's opinion and deep political, economical and social crisis. On Feb. 14, 2005, Hariri was killed in a massive car bomb that targeted his convoy in Beirut. However, Saad Hariri, the son of Refik Hariri and the former Lebanese prime minister said Tuesday that his family has accepted the verdict of a UN tribunal on the assassination of his father.
