6 out of 110 Rohingyas who have been affected by diphtheria disease in the refugee camps in Bangladesh have lost their lives. The unhealthy conditions of the camps brought back diphtheria and similar epidemics that had disappeared in Bangladesh many years ago. The Bangladesh government launched a vaccination campaign for Rohingya children aged between 6 weeks to 6 years old, living in 12 camps, with the support of UNICEF, the World Health Organization and other international organizations.
